Retracting Conveyor for the Food Industry

For food industries, the flexibility is in the speed control.

When the snack food and baking industries require a retracting conveyor designed to primarily handle raw product -- while meeting all of the sanitary specifications of those industries -- they ought to take a look at Benda Manufacturing’s new Retracting Conveyor. What is unique about this food-handling conveyor is its ability to function at the various speeds and feeds necessary to handle various types of food products.

For instance, when used with a servo-pneumatic control, the retractor has the ability to run at a medium-to-slower pace but with all the functionality needed to be able to place product down onto the next system. If higher speeds are desired, the equipment can be upgraded to a servo-mechanical electric solution.

Not only is it servo-controlled, but it can be driven by a recipe-style controller. The servo drive can be set up so that, for instance if the retractor is running various types of bakery products, the user can number or name each of the recipes. By selecting a particular recipe name or number, all the parameters on the equipment would change to allow running that product.

Such flexibility ensures the best value for the application.

For example, in one particular application, the retractor is being used to put dough products onto a peel board. Elsewhere, it is placing product onto other conveyors – inline and at 90 degrees.

The retractor also has the capability of being used in other industries as well, especially those where direct contact with food is of prime concern, including confectionary and dairy products.
